ALBUQUERQUE, NM – The Albuquerque Isotopes scored early and often, as they topped the Salt Lake Bees 10-4 on Friday night. Jo Adell belted a two run homer in the top of the first to give the Bees an early lead, but Albuquerque came back with two runs in the first, one in the second, one in the third and two more in the fourth to take the lead. Salt Lake picked up a run in the fifth on an RBI double by Adell and closed out the scoring with a solo homer in the ninth by Preston Palmeiro, but it was too little, too late, as the Isotopes have now taken the first two games of the series.
Bees starter Felix Pena (3-2) took the loss, as he went three innings and allowed four runs on five hits with three walks and no strikeouts. Adell led the Salt Lake offense with two hits and three runs batted in, while Michael Stefanic added two hits with one run scored.
