The Salt Lake Bees scored early and often, as they rolled to a 9-2 win over the Sacramento River Cats on Friday night.
Salt Lake jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first on back to back RBI singles by Chris Carter and Jose Fernandez. Carter would belt a solo homer in the third, his 11th of the season to make it 3-0 and the Bees would add three more in the 4th on a run scoring single by Jose Briceno and a two run double by David Fletcher. Sacramento would get two runs in the fifth, but the Bees put the game away on a three run homer by Fernandez that hit the right field foul pole.
Jordan Jankowski (2-0) worked two scoreless innings for the win and Jake Jewell gave up two hits, but no runs to close out the game in the ninth. Starting pitcher John Lamb went four and one-third innings and allowed just one hit with a season high seven strikeouts and no walks.
Fernandez led the Bees with two hits and four runs batted in, while Fletcher added a pair of doubles and two RBI. Carter would chip in with two hits and two RBI and Rymer Liriano had a pair of singles, as the Bees earn a split in the four game series.
