Locked on Cougars for October 11, 2018 began with the news breaking that BYU freshman Zach Wilson is in line to start at quarterback for the Cougars Saturday night against Hawaii. Comments from BYU offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes about the official word from Provo and local quarterback expert Riley Jensen on what Wilson brings to the table were played as part of the discussion.
In the second segment, Jake Hatch delved into the new NCAA Transfer policy that is about to take effect which allows student-athletes to transfer without penalty. Hatch looked at the potential good and bad it could offer to the BYU football program as a way to add talent but also lose athletes as well.
In the final segment on the show, Hatch caught listeners up on the other news for the other teams inside the BYU athletics department, including updates on the men’s and women’s golf teams, women’s tennis and women’s volleyball.
