BYU head coach Kalani Sitake said that he was upbeat about his team after his team’s second scrimmage of fall camp at LaVell Edwards Stadium He mentioned that the dog days of fall camp have set in and guys are tired of hitting each other.
Some notable players were held out of the scrimmage include Fred Warner, Jamaal Williams and Tuni Kanuch, whose grandmother passed away. When asked which quarterback stood out between Taysom Hill and Tanner Mangum, Sitake responded with “Taysom and Tanner stood out… Taysom and Tanner, Taysom and Tanner. In that order.”
When asked about the decision to move Harvey Langi to defensive end was a success, Sitake responded “[It’s] been a success. I’ve been hoping to move him to D-end since I got here… He’s a bigger body so it made sense for him to eat freely and gain weight rather than fast and diet… His skill off the edge is vital for our defense to work well.”
