With just 22 days left until March Madness tips off around the country (and inside Vivint Smart Home Arena), college basketball expert Scott Phillips joined “The Big Show” to preview the rest of the regular season, conference tournaments, and big dance hopes of Utah, BYU, and teams across the nation.
Phillips was asked about the NIT, because Utah and BYU could both be headed that way this postseason, and whether he thinks a tournament like that matters at all.
“If you’re a young team looking to build something, there’s been plenty of teams that have been in the NIT and made NCAA Tournament runs the year after, building a successful foundation with some of those extra games and practice times.”
Also, hear who Phillips favors at this point to win it all, and is Gonzaga for real? Or are they just the only undefeated team left, bolstered by a weak regular season schedule?
