BYU football held their second scrimmage of spring camp Friday morning inside their Indoor Practice Facility in Provo. Head coach Kalani Sitake said that he had hoped to play in LaVell Edwards Stadium but the weather conditions necessitated a change of venue. Quarterbacks were “live” again today and Sitake said that decision has been just as much for the QB’s as it is for his defense as he said the Cougars failed to tally a sack in the scrimmage and collected a roughing the passer penalty.
Offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes was less than enthused with his side of the ball saying that there were three fumbles and multiple false start and other procedural penalties that marred the performance in his mind. He deflected when asked to evaluate the scrimmage, saying he wanted to watch the film before making any definitive declarations about the performance of the offense.
