‘The Zone’ Features Weekly Interviews with Top Local NFL Draft Candidates
Kyle Van Noy, Trevor Reilly and Nevin Lawson Provide Exclusive Conversations
SALT LAKE CITY (April 15, 2014) – The Zone Sports Network announced new programming today that will feature exclusive commentary with a trio of top local National Football League Draft prospects as they experience life as rookies in the NFL from the player draft through the entire upcoming season.
Kyle Van Noy of Brigham Young University, Trevor Reilly of the University of Utah and Nevin Lawson of Utah State University will be featured each week on ‘Living the Dream: The NFL Rookie Experience.’ The Zone Sports Network is heard on 1280 The Zone (KZNS-AM), 97.5 (KZNS-FM) and 960 (KOVO-AM).
Beginning this week, the segments will air with Van Noy on Tuesdays at 8 a.m., Reilly on Wednesdays at 4 p.m. and Lawson on Thursdays at 2 p.m.
“The Zone will be the only place to hear the experiences first-hand from the projected highest NFL draft picks this year from BYU, Utah and Utah State,” said Randy Rodgers, general manager of The Zone Sports Network. “This unique programming will take listeners inside the NFL through the eyes of three local star players. Each week will provide exclusive insights into their journeys of pursuing their professional football dreams.”
Named All-Independent Defensive Player of the Year, Van Noy, a 6-3, 243-pound outside linebacker from Reno, Nev., had a standout 2013 season for BYU with 13 sacks and 22 tackles for loss. A 6-5, 245-pound outside linebacker from Valley Center, Calif., Reilly led the Utes last season in tackles (100), tackles for loss (16), sacks (8.5) and fumble recoveries (3). Lawson, a 5-10, 186-pound cornerback from Lauderhill, Fla., was a 2013 All-Mountain West First-Team selection after leading Utah State with four interceptions and 13 pass breakups in his senior year.
