The Big Show - Recap of Thursday March 14th 2013

Split Story:

Spence and Gordon were disappointed by the showing of the Jazz in OKC, but even more so disappointed by the lackluster performance from the starters in particular. Having lost 8/10 games, both Spence and Gordon feel the Jazz are in desperate need of some pride, but they're not sure who or where it's going to come from.

Dahntay Jones' play that injured Kobe Bryant was in fact a dirty play, if you ask Spence or Gordon. They both feel that an NBA player should be allowed his shooting space, including where he kicks his legs or elbows out. They also both feel that Jones knew what he was doing and where he was positioned, and that he intentionally injured Kobe.

NBA Assist: Sam Amick, USA Today

Sam says he can see both sides of the argument when it comes to the Kobe Bryant injury story. On the one hand, Jones did run into Kobe on a fade away shot. While on the other, Kobe did kick his leg out and cause the contact. Regarding Derrick Rose, Amick says he's surprised that someone within the organization would tell the media Rose is cleared to play but has chosen not to. Even if that were the case, it should stay in-house.

Gordon Hayward, Utah Jazz

Hayward joined us after yet another tough loss for the Jazz, and you could feel it / hear it in his voice and responses. It's hard times right now in that locker room, on that bus, on the flights, in practices....Gordon called on the veterans of the team to lead the Jazz through all these losses, but that it's also on each individual to prepare and be mentally stronger than they have shown recently.
