All Utah State Football Games Broadcast Live on 1280 AM
SALT LAKE CITY (August 19, 2014) – The Zone Sports Network is providing extensive local college football programming as the 2014 season begins, including the third season of “Football Fridays” with former head coaches LaVell Edwards of BYU and Ron McBride of Utah and Weber State, which airs on Fridays from 1-3 p.m. starting August 22 with Hans Olsen and Scott Garrard as co-hosts.
The Zone Sports Network is heard on 1280 The Zone (KZNS-AM), 97.5 (KZNS-FM) and 960 (KOVO-AM).
Starting August 25,Brandon Doman, the former BYU offensive coordinator, joins the weekday “Mornings with DJ & PK” show with David James and Patrick Kinahan on Mondays and Fridays at 8 a.m. The morning show will also feature recaps from the weekly head coach press conferences on Tuesdays at 6:20 a.m. A Pac-12 insiders discussion will take place on Wednesdays at 8 a.m. with rotating guests such as Joey Harrington, Rick Neuheisel and Joel Klatt.
BYU, Utah and Utah State will each have weekly preview shows. Doman, Olsen and Garrard will co-host the Cougar Preview Show on Wednesdays from 1-3 p.m. Former Utah defensive end Christian Cox, who played on the 2008 Ute Sugar Bowl team and with the New England Patriots, joins Olsen and Garrard for the Ute Preview Show on Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. The Zone will originate an Aggie pre-game show prior to each game broadcast.
Featured segments each week include Weber State head coach Jay Hill with “Jake & Tony” on Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m. Utah State head coach Matt Wells will have a weekly conversation with “Hans & Scotty G” on Tuesdays at 2 p.m. Other college football contributors to The Zone’s football lineup will include former BYU defensive lineman Jan Jorgensen, former BYU offensive lineman Jake Kuresa and former BYU cornerback Ben Criddle.
The Zone’s coverage of each college football program in the state features pre- and post-game shows for every BYU and Utah football game. All Utah State University games will be broadcast live on 1280 AM, starting with the Utah State-Tennessee game on August 31. The Zone will also be on location for each contest in the state to provide fans with live updates and breaking news.
The Zone is continuing its exclusive commentary from three top local NFL draft picks – Kyle Van Noy, Trevor Reilly and Nevin Lawson – who are “Living the Dream: The NFL Rookie Experience.” The segments air with Van Noy (BYU/Detroit Lions) on Tuesdays at 8 a.m., Reilly (Utah/New York Jets) on Wednesdays at 4 p.m. and Lawson (Utah State/Detroit Lions) on Thursdays at 2 p.m.
