BOISE TO THE MTN WEST UPDATE

The latest on Boise State to the Mtn. West is that the Idaho Statesman, the largest newspaper in Hans-land has requested BSU’s mail to determine if contact between the prez of the university Bob Kustra and MWC head man Craig Thompson or any other MWC types. The chances of that seem to be slim but you never know. Also, if BSU were to join the TV-challenged conference, they couldn’t do so before the 2010 season. The bylaws of the WAC state you have to inform the conference of your intention to leave by the previous July. Here is a blg from the Statesman in Idaho…..
As we discussed this morning, from a financial standpoint adding Boise, the #113 media market in the country doesn’t add revenue or punch to a new TV deal or make much financial sense. After all they are another financial mouth to feed. From a football standpoint, as long as they are good, it makes all the sense in the world. If AD’s have their way, they’d be in, if the bean counters get involved, they have little chance.

Not only is SDSU 117th in the country in regards to rankings now the Utes next opponent has no place to play leading to speculation that they may ditch the whole football thing. Not that Southern California would notice…......Gunther back in his playing days is confused…...
