THE SAINTS ARE FOR REAL AND SO ARE THERE CHEERLEADERS

NFL TOP 5…BOTTOM 5 (Record/Last wk’s ranking):
TOP 5:
1) SAINTS (11-0; #1): Drew Brees made his case for MVP with a stellar 5TD performance vs. Pats.
2) COLTS (11-0; #2): Indy gets a scare but recovers to beat Houston.
3) VIKINGS (10-1; #3): Defense and Favre getting the job done.
4) CHARGERS (8-3; #4): SD has won six straight.
5) COWBOYS (8-3; NR): The Boys have won 6 of 7 with a key division match-up Sunday at the Giants.
Dropped out: PATRIOTS

BOTTOM 5:
1) BROWNS (1-10; #1): Only 169 total yards of offense in the loss to the Bengals.
2) RAMS (1-10; #2): At least put up a fight against the Seahawks.
3) BUCS (1-10; #3): Raheem Morris fired the def coord and took over the duties himself.  After giving up game winning TD to Atlanta’s back-up QB will he fire himself this week?
4) LIONS (2-9; #4): Take the Thanksgiving game away from them please!
5)  CHIEFS (3-8; NR): Back in after debacle of an effort vs. SD.
Dropped out:  SEAHAWKS

MWC POWER POLL: (Last wk rank; records; next opp)
1.  TCU (#1; 12-0; 8-0):  Frogs good enough to beat anyone in the country—unfortunate they won’t get that chance.
2.  BYU (#3; 10-2; 7-1):  Too bad Max Hall’s comments overshadowed what was a great win over Utah.
3.  UTAH (#2; 9-3; 6-2):  Defense played well enough to beat Utah—offense didn’t.
4.  AIR FORCE (#4; 7-5; 5-3):  Falcons most likely heading to Armed Forces Bowl for third straight year.
5.  WYOMING (#5; 6-6; 4-4):  The Cowboys will be bowling for the first time in five years.
6.  UNLV (#7; 5-7; 3-5):  Rebels end the Mike Sanford era with a victory.
7.  SAN DIEGO STATE (#6; 4-8; 2-6):  Aztecs end the year on a four-game losing streak.
8.  NEW MEXICO (#8; 1-11; 1-7):  Nightmare season ends the way it began—with a blowout loss.
9.  COLORADO STATE (#9; 3-9; 0-8):  After a 3-0 start, the Rams lose nine straight.
