It’s Uncensored Utah Jazz Playoff Coverage right here on 1280 The Zone. The Big Show broadcasts live from the Toyota Center Monday at 3pm. Then after the game it’s the Most Interactive Playoff Post-game Show in the Country as we take your calls as long as you need us too.
Listen to the Sunday interviews (AK/Williams/Sloan/TMac/Battier/Adelman) in the audio section of the website.
SUNDAY’S GRAHAM SLAMS:
-Jazz appeared loose and confident at today’s practice. Most players were still beaming over AK’s performance but they also talked about areas they need to improve upon including the offensive boards. This is an area they controlled in the first half (11-7) but were dominated in the 2nd (11-2).
-AK once again stressed how he is more comfortable and that his transformation is due to changing his mindset. You still get the sense however that he’s not going to be with the Jazz for the long term. Make sure you check out Gordon’s Monday column for more.
-As for the Rockets they felt like they had plenty of opportunities last night but just couldn’t hit their shots. Most all felt given the same opportunities they will convert giving them a good chance to win.
-Tracy McGrady said Monday night’s game is a must-win basically admitting how difficult it will be to win in Utah. He was asked if he was going to have to exert himself more and he basically said no adding that when he’s double-teamed his teammates have to start making their open shots. While he’s right on that, I am surprised he doesn’t step up and say the obvious…he has to take over, lead and will his team to some victories. All the greats do this and I think it’s becoming clear he’s not one of them.
-The Rockets were basically two hours late in meeting with the media as they were watching film. While I understand a) I don’t think it will really matter and b) they caused me to miss an opportunity to see the Astros/Rockies game over at Minute Maid Park (pic above). Instead I am sitting here in the depths of the Toyota Center as opposed to enjoying the 80+ degree weather, a hot dog and a cold beverage. I know...I can hear you P1’s now…quit whining and shut-up. On that note we’ll talk to you tomorrow at 3pm right back here at the Toyota Center.
