-If the season ends Friday or back here on Monday the Jazz will stew and spend several a sleepless nights thinking about this one.  Despite struggling with turnovers in the first half…despite getting another under par performance by Carlos Boozer…despite Deron Williams playing another outstanding game…and despite Kobe Bryant taking just 10 shots, the Jazz had several opportunities to steal this game.  They tied the game four times but could never get the lead and they really can only blame themselves.

-First up is Boozer.  What is up with Jazz star power forwards choking in big moments in the playoffs?  Yes he got his double-double (18pts 12reb) but much of the blame falls squarely on his shoulders both offensively and defensively.  He couldn’t convert his jump shot once again but he missed easy shots in the lane as well.  He traveled at a crucial time and on the defensive end he was abused in the 4th by Lamar Odom.  I asked him after the game how he would assess his play and he said “alright”.  I’m pretty sure that’s not going to cut it with Jazz fans.

-Mehmet Okur.  Ross Siler and I are debating the non-call in which Gasol shoved Okur with 20 seconds left in the game.  Could it have been called a foul?  Probably.  But how often is that call made at that point in the game?  As one media member pointed out, Okur can’t even think about getting that call.  He had to fight that off and go for the ball.  I would agree.

-Jerry Sloan.  Why oh why won’t he put Ronnie Brewer back in the game in the 4th quarter?  He scored the teams first four baskets.  He was finding ways to get the garbage buckets in the lane but once again Sloan stayed to his rigid rotation.  I just don’t get it.

I can go on and on but it’s late and I have an early flight so I’ll share more on the show.  Try to get some sleep Jazz fans although I’m sure that’s easier said than done.
