WEEK 8 NFL TOP 5/BOTTOM 5…WEEK 9 MWC FOOTBALL POWER POLL
October 28th, 2009

image

Yes they may be the worst team in football, but Ram fans can still be proud of their cheerleaders!

NFL TOP 5…BOTTOM 5 (Record/Last wk’s ranking):
TOP 5:
1) SAINTS (6-0; #1):  Coming back from 21pt deficit on road versus Miami shows can overcome adversity.
2) COLTS (6-0; #2):  Off to a 6-0 start for the fourth time in five years.
3) BRONCOS (6-0; #4):  Coming off a bye, Donk’s get a good road test versus Ravens.
4) STEELERS (5-2; NR):  Polamalu is back and so is Pittsburgh’s playmaking defense.
5) VIKINGS (6-1; #3):  Took seven weeks for Favre to cost Vikes a win.
Dropped out: GIANTS

BOTTOM 5:
1) RAMS (0-7; #1):  Does LA really want to consider bringing this franchise back!?
2) BUCS (0-7; #2):  If the NFL really wants to gain fans in London, don’t send teams like this over there.
3) TITANS (0-6; #3):  Maybe dawning a Colts jersey not such a smart thing during bye for Jeff Fisher.
4) BROWNS (1-6; #5):  Offense anemic with just 58 yards rushing & 81 yards passing in 31-3 loss to GB.
5) LIONS (1-5; #4):  Always a great week for Lions fans when they get a bye week from this pitiful team.
Dropped out:  NONE

MWC POWER RANKING: (Last wk rank; records; next opp)
1.  TCU: (#1; 7-0; 3-0; vs. UNLV):  Frogs have athletes and coach to compete with the best in the nation.
2.  UTAH (#3; 6-1; 3-0; vs. Wyo):  This team is finding ways of overcoming numerous mistakes to win.
3.  BYU (#2; 6-2; 3-1; Bye):  Cougars need bye week to recover from TCU beating.
4.  AIR FORCE (#4; 4-4; 3-2; @CSU):  Falcons have lost two games in overtime and the other two have come by combined total of just 10 points.
5.  WYOMING (#5; 4-3; 2-1; @Utah):  Cowboys come off bye week hoping to get offense back on track.
6.  SAN DIEGO STATE (#6; 3-4; 1-2; vs. NM):  Quarterback Ryan Lindley and the Aztec offense has finally woken up.
7.  UNLV (#8; 3-5; 1-3; @TCU):  Rebels snap 20 game MWC road losing streak with win at New Mexico.
8.  COLORADO STATE (#7; 3-5; 0-4; vs. AF):  Steve Fairchild’s Rams have dropped five straight.
9.  NEW MEXICO (#9; 0-7; 0-3; @SDSU):  Same results even without suspended coach Mike Locksley who has returned to work this week.
